Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi – Sweet Water OlPajeta Conservancy

Start your Kenyan adventure with an early pick-up from Nairobi and embark on a scenic 4-hour drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy on Mount Kenya’s slopes. Pause for a photo opportunity at the equator line before arriving at Sweetwaters Luxury Tented Camp (or similar) in time for lunch and check-in. Explore the unique chimpanzee sanctuary, the only one in Kenya for their rehabilitation, and witness ongoing black rhino breeding efforts. In the afternoon, enjoy your first exciting game drive across the conservancy before returning to camp for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 2Sweet Water Olpajeta – Samburu

Rise with the sun for a thrilling 6:15 am game drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, followed by a delicious breakfast. Embark on a scenic 2-hour drive to Samburu National Reserve. Upon arrival in Samburu, enjoy a short game drive before checking into your comfortable accommodation at Ashnil Samburu Camp (or similar) and savoring a relaxing lunch. In the afternoon, venture out on another exciting game drive through the unique landscape of Samburu, bordering the Ewaso Ng’iro River and encompassing Buffalo Springs National Reserve. Keep your eyes peeled for the park’s resident wildlife, including the distinctive reticulated giraffe, the endangered Grevy’s zebra, the majestic beisa oryx, and the flightless Somali ostrich with its vibrant blue legs. Return to your camp for dinner and a restful overnight stay, ready to explore further adventures tomorrow.

Day 3Samburu (2) Two game drives

Fuel up with an early 6:15 am game drive in Samburu, returning to camp for a hearty breakfast and relaxation. In the afternoon, gear up for another exciting exploration as you embark on a second game drive across the park. Samburu boasts a unique collection of wildlife, including the long-necked gerenuk, the endangered Grevy’s zebra, the majestic beisa oryx, and the distinctively patterned reticulated giraffe. Keep your eyes peeled for all three big cats – lions, cheetahs, and leopards – alongside elephants, cape buffaloes, and even hippos. After a thrilling day of discovery, return to your camp at Ashnil Samburu (or similar) for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 4Samburu Reserve – Lake Nakuru

After an energizing breakfast, check out of your Samburu camp and embark on a scenic 5-hour journey towards Lake Nakuru National Park. Along the way, you’ll have a chance to stop and admire the cascading beauty of Thomson’s Falls, discovered by Scottish explorer Joseph Thomson in 1883 and reaching an impressive height of 7,800 feet above sea level. Arrive at Lake Nakuru in time for lunch and check into your comfortable accommodation at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge (or similar). In the afternoon, embark on a game drive across the captivating “Pink Lake,” named for the vast flocks of flamingos that grace its shores (seasonal variations may occur). Keep your eyes peeled for the critically endangered white and black rhinos that call this park home, alongside a diverse range of other wildlife. Return to your lodge for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 5Lake Nakuru – Nairobi

Seize the day with an invigorating 6:00 am game drive around Lake Nakuru, followed by a satisfying breakfast to fuel your journey. Bid farewell to the park and embark on a scenic 3-hour drive back to Nairobi. While en route, you’ll pass by Lake Naivasha, offering optional activities like a boat ride and walking safari (at an additional cost) for those seeking further exploration (not included).
