Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi – Tsavo East Ithumba David Shedrick Wildlife Trust

Your day starts with a pick up from your Nairobi hotel or airport at 7:00 AM. Then, you will embark on a 6-hour drive to Tsavo East National Park. Along the way, you will stop at Emali Town to buy groceries. You will arrive at the park’s main gate around lunchtime and proceed to your camp for lunch and a short rest. In the late afternoon, 5 pm you will visit the Ithumba Reintegration Unit, where you can see foster elephants. Finally, you will enjoy dinner and spend the night at Ithumba Camp.

Day 2Tsavo East Ithumba Reintegration Unit

Begin with an early 5 am drive to the Ithumba Reintegration Unit, where you’ll have ample time with your foster elephant. Following the visit, return to camp for breakfast, then relax until 11:00 am when you’ll embark on another drive to the Ithumba Reintegration Unit for more time with your foster. Afterward, return to camp for lunch, and if desired, opt for a short game drive before the 5 pm visit to your foster elephant. Conclude the day with a drive back to the Ithumba Reintegration Unit for further interaction with your foster, followed by dinner and overnight stay at Ithumba camp.

Day 3Tsavo East Ithumba Reintegration Unit

start with a 5 am early morning drive to the Ithumba Reintegration Unit, offering abundant time with your foster elephant. Following the visit, return to camp for breakfast, followed by a period of relaxation. At 11:00 am, embark on another drive to the Ithumba Reintegration Unit for further interaction with your foster. After this, return to camp for lunch and consider a short game drive before the 5 pm visit to your foster elephant. Conclude the day with a drive back to the Ithumba Reintegration Unit for additional time with your foster, followed by dinner and overnight stay at Ithumba camp.

Day 4Tsavo East Ithimba – Tsavo West

Commence with an early morning 5 am drive to the Ithumba Reintegration Unit for ample time with your foster elephant. Afterward, proceed to your camp for breakfast, then embark on a journey to Tsavo West National Park, approximately a less than 3-hour drive away. Along the way, enjoy a short game drive en-route to Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge or Severin Safari Camp. Upon arrival, check in and savor a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, indulge in a thrilling game drive in Tsavo West, renowned for its spectacular wildlife sightings including elephants, rhinos, hippos, lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffalos, as well as diverse plant and bird species. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 5Tsavo West (2) two Game Drives

Begin your day with an early morning breakfast, followed by a captivating game drive. One of the highlights of the morning excursion includes a visit to Mzima Springs, where you can witness hippos and fish in the crystal-clear water. There’s also a chance to spot crocodiles and monkeys amidst the stunning sight of fifty million gallons of water gushing from beneath parched lava rock. Afterward, return to your camp for a hot lunch and a brief rest. In the afternoon, embark on another thrilling game drive, this time to Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, where if you’re fortunate, you may catch a glimpse of black rhinos. Conclude the day’s adventures as you proceed to your lodge, Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge or Severin Safari Camp, with opportunities to observe elephants, buffalos, and other plains game drinking and cooling off at the waterhole. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge or Severin Safari Camp.

Day 6Tsavo West– Amboseli

Kick off with an early morning breakfast, followed by check-out and a game drive as you journey towards Amboseli National Park, a less than 3-hour drive away. Upon arrival, enjoy a short game drive before proceeding to your lodge for check-in. Take time for lunch and a brief rest at OlTukai Lodge or Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge. In the afternoon, embark on an exciting game drive in search of Amboseli’s renowned residents, including predators like lions and their prey such as zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and hippos, all set against the backdrop of majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at OlTukai Lodge or Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 7Amboseli Full day or (2) Two game drives

commence with an early morning game drive at 6:15 am, followed by a return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, spend the full day in Amboseli National Park, accompanied by packed lunch, in search of its renowned residents including predators like lions and their prey such as zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and hippos, all with the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Later, return to your camp for dinner and overnight stay at OlTukai Lodge or Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge.

Day 8Amboseli – Nairobi

Start with an early morning game drive, followed by a return to your lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, check out, enjoying a short game drive en-route out of Amboseli, then begin your journey back to Nairobi. Arriving in Nairobi around lunchtime, indulge in a delicious lunch at The Carnivore restaurant before being dropped off at your respective hotel or Nairobi Airport around 3 to 4 pm. For clients with evening flights, there’s an optional opportunity for more game drives until around 12:00 pm, with lunch served on the way. Afterward, continue the journey to Nairobi, arriving around 5 to 6 pm for drop-off at the airport or back to your hotel.
