Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi – Amboseli

In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel or Nairobi Airport and driven to Amboseli National Park, a journey of approximately 4 and a half hours. Amboseli is renowned for its breathtaking scenery, featuring the iconic backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, which dominates the horizon alongside expansive open plains. It’s widely regarded as one of Africa’s prime spots for observing herds of elephants up close. The park offers a rich diversity of landscapes, encompassing the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, and varied savannah and woodlands habitats. Upon arrival, you’ll continue the drive en-route to Tawi Lodge, situated on a private Conservancy bordering Amboseli National Park. Check-in at the lodge, where you’ll enjoy lunch and have some time to rest. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive within the Conservancy, followed by dinner and overnight stay at Tawi Lodge.

Day 2Amboseli National park Full day

Enjoy an early morning breakfast before embarking on a journey to Amboseli National Park, equipped with packed lunches for a full day exploration. Spend the day immersed in the park’s abundant wildlife, searching for its famous inhabitants, including iconic predators and their prey such as zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and hippos, all against the majestic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. After a day of adventure, return to your camp at Tawi Lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 3Amboseli - Fly – Masai Mara

Indulge in an early morning breakfast before transferring to Amboseli Airstrip. Departure is at 8:00 am, with an anticipated arrival at the airport by 9:30 am. From there, catch a flight to Masai Mara, arriving at Keekorok Airstrip around 10:50 am, where you’ll be greeted by your driver guide. Begin your journey to the camp with a scenic en-route drive. Upon arrival, settle in and enjoy a delicious lunch at JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge. In the afternoon, embark on an exhilarating game drive in search of the famed members of the Big Five, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, and more. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge.

Day 4Masai Mara 2 game drives

Begin your day with an early start at 6:00 am for a thrilling game drive, accompanied by a packed breakfast enjoyed amidst the bush. Following the game drive, savor your breakfast surrounded by the picturesque wilderness. Around mid-day, return to your lodge for a satisfying hot lunch. In the afternoon, set out on another game drive to encounter the diverse array of wildlife that call the Masai Mara home. The plains come alive with activity, especially during migration season from early July to the end of September, where you can witness herds of wildebeests, zebras, impalas, topis, giraffes, and Thomson’s gazelles. Keep an eye out for elusive leopards, majestic lions, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, and bat-eared foxes. While black rhinos may be shy, they can still be spotted at a distance if luck is on your side. The Mara River teems with hippos and formidable Nile crocodiles, creating a dramatic backdrop to the natural spectacle. Conclude your day with a delicious dinner and restful overnight stay at JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge.

Day 5Masai Mara 2 game drives

At the break of dawn, at 6:00 am, embark on an exhilarating game drive, accompanied by a packed breakfast enjoyed amidst the bush. Following this adventure, indulge in another bush breakfast later in the morning. By mid-day, return to your lodge for a satisfying hot lunch. In the afternoon, set out on yet another game drive in search of the Masai Mara’s famed inhabitants. The plains of Masai Mara are teeming with wildlife, particularly during the migration season from early July to the end of September. Here, you’ll encounter a diverse array of species including wildebeests, zebras, impalas, topis, giraffes, and Thomson’s gazelles. Keep a keen eye out for the elusive leopards, majestic lions, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, and bat-eared foxes. While black rhinos may be shy and challenging to spot, lucky sightings are not uncommon from a distance. The Mara River is home to abundant hippos and formidable Nile crocodiles, adding to the spectacle. As the day winds down, enjoy a scenic sundowner amidst the bush, soaking in the breathtaking African sunset. Conclude your day with a sumptuous dinner and a restful overnight stay at JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge.

Day 6Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru

Begin your day with an early breakfast at your lodge, followed by departure from Masai Mara towards Nakuru. The journey will take less than 5 hours, with an en-route drive to your camp, The Cliff Camp. Upon arrival, check-in, enjoy lunch, and take some time to unwind. In the later afternoon, embark on a game drive to explore one of the largest ornithological spots, although due to climate change and water levels, flamingo sightings may be limited. Nonetheless, the park boasts a variety of wildlife, including the renowned white and black rhinos. Conclude the day with a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at The Cliff Camp.

Day 7 Lake Nakuru – Nairobi

Embark on an early morning game drive at 6:00 am, followed by a return to your lodge for breakfast at 8:00 am. After breakfast, check out and begin your journey with an en-route stop at Lake Nakuru, known for its scenic beauty and rich wildlife. From there, proceed on a 3-hour drive back to Nairobi. Optionally, you can partake in activities such as a boat ride plus walking safari at Lake Naivasha. Arrive in Nairobi in time for lunch, which will be served at The Carnivore restaurant. After lunch, you will be dropped off at your respective hotel or the airport.
