Your Maasai Mara adventure starts bright and early with a convenient pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport. Buckle up for a scenic 5-hour drive towards the reserve. Along the way, marvel at the dramatic landscape of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of the Maasai people in the town of Narok. To maximize your game viewing time upon arrival, a delicious packed lunch will be provided. Upon reaching the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the afternoon comes alive with your first thrilling game drive. Keep your eyes peeled for the Big Five – lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffaloes – alongside a dazzling array of other wildlife like cheetahs, zebras, impalas, topis, and giraffes. As the sun sets, you’ll be whisked away to your comfortable accommodation (Ashnil Mara Camp, Sarova Mara Game Camp, or Mara Serena Safari Lodge) for a delicious dinner and a relaxing overnight stay, ready to explore further adventures tomorrow.
Rise and shine for an early morning game drive (6:00 am – 8:30 am) as the Maasai Mara awakens. Witness the predator-prey drama unfold in the golden light before a hearty breakfast. A packed lunch fuels your search for the park’s captivating residents – from the vast herds of wildebeest during migration (July-September) to zebras, impalas, topis, giraffes, and even elusive black rhinos. After a final game drive until lunchtime (1:30 pm), bid farewell to the park and embark on a scenic return journey to Nairobi.
